Predictable

My grandfather, as part of his new Weekly Sasha Care Package program, sent over a little mouse toy with catnip in it, ostensibly for one or all of my three cats to enjoy.

I threw it on the floor where the cats could see it. They never stood a chance. Leo swooped in and claimed it as his own, and has been playing with it for the better part of the night. In fact, he is now slumbering on high alert, with one paw on his precious new pal, his head perking up at the slightest sound, lest the cats try to reclaim it.

Oh, and this is totally unrelated, but Josie and Max agreed to pose nicely for some photos the other day, so I wanted to run them on here too. It’s so rare that I get good photos of my cats. Ashley, who’s arguably the prettiest of them all, still refuses to come anywhere near me, let alone pose for a photo. Last night, at like 3 am, she was curled up in a chair in the living room and all was dark and still and she let me kneel down next to the chair and pet her for awhile. She even purred! But that was a rare and special moment. Normally she hates me. So no pics of Ash.

My pineapple fried rice last night was a disaster, but my Portabello mushroom fajitas tonight were divine. The little marinade I made was very scrumptious. The only problem is I made WAY more than I needed. Like, I made enough Portabello mushroom fajita stuff to feed a large family. Thankfully, Leo seems to be into eating it. We’ll see if we can get the cats interested, too.

I’ll get the hang of this vegan cooking thing yet.

Who the Fuck Can Screw Up Pineapple Fried Rice?

1) My middle-school cafeteria.

2) Me, apparently.

It’s totally inedible.

How?

Despite My Better Judgement

I have officially scheduled a “colon hydrotherapy” session, on the advice of a friend who has traditionally given me quality advice in the arena of aesthetics. She swears I will both feel and look better as a result.

Just thinking about it makes me anxious. But I’ve always been one of those “I’ll try anything once” types of girls — not always to my benefit, mind you — but I’ve heard enough people talk about it now that I thought I’d try it. Just once.

Please, talk me out of it.
