I am so focused suddenly (although it's been coming for about 3 years) on writing my autobiography. I'd keep my mouth shut happily but the things that have happened in my life need to shout. even at this early age, we have to write beet. let it flow, or like me wrestle with it and change your name in the process. get it out.

i've just been the lone guy in barnes and noble in the seemingly obligatory reference section gathering tips on how to begin this thing. basically it's gonna take a lot of my morning jacket, one part doubt, and one part confidence.

Perhaps posting some pics of you and your fabulously incredible cantaloupes would help tamp down some of the book fear?

I love you, and think you are rad and amazing! Thank you for your support last night, it helped a lot. Did you know you taught me how to spell a lot with one of your post on here? Know that your spelling and grammer vents are helpful! (you could write a book on that:)XO, Em

Have you tried reading any books on writing? There are several offered by Writer's Digest. My favorite is The Novel Writer's Toolkit. Has great ideas for helping to outline, build characters and a lot of other things that are just really useful.

And yes, I think that just getting the writing done & then going back & editing will work. The actual writing is the hardest part. Good luck & just keep at it!!

I have a novel (and half of another one) written and have posted some stuff on my blog about my frustrations (and some excerpts).

I know it's obnoxious when people post links to their own blogs, but I think maybe these might be helpful to you (especially this one, which was where I had to write 25 Things About my Novel--wicked hard, actually, but one of the more valuable things I've done in terms of focusing on my novel in a way that was somehow deeper than actually writing it: http://philosophyofklo.blogspot.com/2009/04/i-guess-this-concept-starting-from.html).

Selfishly, I'd also love to get your input on my novel (in all your spare time, I know :-))
