Was tempted to photoshop this pic of Beet sitting at the campfire but I resisted. Only the Germans would appreciate such a picture.

Well, my dear Sasha, I simply had to respond to your post on our wonderful time together in Spokane and Priest Lake. It was such a treat getting the chance to share some of my Pacific Northwest life with a person from my Arizona life. I am so glad that you enjoyed your time here with us as much as we enjoyed having you. My time here in Spokane and Priest with the Brown Family is always such a special part of my year - this family is made up of the most wonderfully kind and generous people that I have ever met. The girls (Ry's cousins) were all so disappointed that they didn't get a chance to meet you, but I assured them that there will be many more opportunities. I also told them that they should look you up the next time they are in Seattle; as I have no doubts that you would show them a fabulous Sasha-time!

I was so glad to read that you loved Priest Lake as much as Ryan and I do. I agree with your commenter that there are very few times when it is appropriate to deem a place "magical' but Priest Lake is one of those rare places on this earth. I hope that we can continue to plan rendezvous for the times when Ryan and I are up North visiting. Dan and Doris had nothing but great things to say about you and were so excited to read about your take of Spokane and their precious Priest Lake cabin. There is such a wonderful amount of history within that cabin and I always look forward to getting to be there to make even more memories and family history. Thank you so much for taking the time to come and be with us; we truly enjoyed every moment we got to spend with you and Leo. Love you tons gorgeous!!!

I love in the picture with you and the big red wagon slide that the guy is just sitting on the wheel like, yep...I'm on a giant red wagon wheel. Haha, glad you had a nice time, I would love to just pick up everything and take a trip somewhere.
And it really is sad that so many small towns are suffering from the recession. You have to think how many people spent all of their savings on their business and in a matter of months its all gone. It just goes to show we can't take these mom-and-pop stores for granted.

Our family has a lake cottage on lake MIchigan that we go to every year that is very similar. Very rustic... the same way I remember it as a child. We even have the book that all the branches of family and friends write in about their experience at "the cottage" each year. It's a place that I hold incredibly close to my heart. My boyfriend even realized how special it was to me and proposed to me there this summer. Places like that are one of the only times I think the word "magical" should be used. Makes me happy that you got to experience such a great place.

Hey! What a fun vacation! We live in North Spokane and go out to the lakes in this area all summer long. There are definitely some beautiful spots! You should come back and I'll take you to my family's lake houses! Haha.
