Hello my loves. I should be writing beautiful blog notes to you, but instead I’m playing Dice Wars, because that is what I do these days. One of you recommended it in the comments, and I checked it out, and at first I was like “What the fuck is this?” But I was intrigued, so I did some googling and learned the rules, and now I am SO INTO it.
Anyway. Today was pretty good. Spent most of it at the office, being a bugaboo. I was feeling a little lost and confused about this whole job search thing, and I ran into our department’s VP in the cafeteria and asked her if I could chat with her later this afternoon, and she said sure. So I went by there for 15 minutes and she just had such amazing insight, and it seemed like everything fell into place after we talked. I feel so much better and clearer now.
The things she had to say were just so smart and perceptive. She’s a ridiculously busy and important woman, but she was more than happy to take time out of a crazy afternoon to advise me. I think that’s very cool. There’s such a stereotype that a high-ranking woman in a huge public corporation is going to be a Devil Wears Prada type. But that’s not always true. It’s not true in this woman’s case, not at all. One day, when I’m at the helm of a huge public corporation, I will be the same way.
After that, I picked up Leo, ran some errands, and then headed off to a BBQ at my friend Rick’s house. He lives right off the bay, on the other side of the Space Needle from me. I snapped this pic on my iPhone of my friends with Leo:
You can totally see the Space Needle in the background! I just love this city so much. It’s so mind-blowingly beautiful. After living here for over a year, there’s still not a day that goes by where I don’t look at some part of the city and marvel at its beauty. Love love love it here.
