I am about to move too and I am scared and excited. I am scared because it will be my first place alone and the expense of it makes me really tense. Also, I will be on the first floor alone. Yikes. But I have a friend who lives on the 1st floor who assures me it will be fine. At least you will be in the same building. That makes things so so so much easier. And no one wants to help move me.

But I am excited because at 30, this is the first time I will be living alone and I will prove to myself that I can do it.

ew, I hope your coworker's husband was kidding. If not, if your coworker is suddenly killed, you know who did it. :(

oh, and your story with your dog is really the sweetest thing ever. How beautiful of you, to take in a dog like that, with an expense like that. She is truly blessed to have found you. Kudos.

Both of my pets came to be mine completely unintentionally.

One of my coworkers said her husband was going to flush her cat's last kitten down the toilet if nobody would take it (I meant to just keep her long enough to give her to someone else and avoid her from flushage ... but yeah, instant unexpected bond), so that's how I got my cat.

And my dog? She'd been abused, neglected, and otherwise horribly mistreated. Part of this mistreatment included being hit by a dirt bike, an accident which caused serious damage to her leg. The humane society wouldn't take her because the surgery necessary to repair her leg was so expensive. They did agree to euthanize her, though ... so the vet that evaluated her had his staff send out desperate e-mails to everyone they knew that might be willing to pay for the surgery and adopt the dog and, long story short, we accidentally got a dog (a sweet, kind, amazing dog) as well.

Anyway, random tangents aside, good luck with your moving : )

When cats swish/wag their tail around sharply, it means they are agitated... not happy like dogs....

Often people who suffer from depression will build themselves a nest; a place where they are comfortable and feel in control. The closer you come to your moving date the more anxious you will feel. Acknowledge your anxiety and the fact that it's normal for you to feel like this then find a way to reassert control in a fashion that helps relieve your anxiety and gets you into your new place and settled as quickly as possible. A little puppy playtime never hurts either. Good luck with the move you'll be fine.

Love the Beet and Sasha as well -
The key to moving down the hall is Banker's Boxes - get them at Office Depo / Max - etc. Put items in box, put on lid, take down hall -unpack.
Also, get some strechy wrap, move breakables wrapped in towels and sheets, put strechy wrap around them.
And paper shreds from shredder are perfect for glasses and breakables as well.
-Gal in MN who's moved a TON

Poor Sasha, you'll meet your husband and then the world will end the next year.

I love how you call him Wiggles. Did you notice he's become real Wiggles instead of Wiggles 2.0?

I think it's fantastic you've been making so much progress!
