Sasha, I'm SO glad to hear you getting back to being YOU. It looks like you knew exactly what you needed with this trip home.
Re: the Ambien thing...I honestly wanted to mention CR to you weeks and weeks ago, maybe even longer, when you were talking about Ambien not always working for you, but I somehow just assumed you'd either tried it, or were actually on it and leaving off the CR part.
Out of the two, it is absolutely the more effective/efficient drug. I am honestly not even sure why the original still exists.
And I forget if you've discuss this, but have you tried Lunesta? It is a tad bit less "hypnotic." I never woke up feeling quite as out of it when I took Lunesta compared to when I took Ambien CR.

One thing I miss about Phoenix is hiking those Mountains. My favorites were squaw peak and north mountian. 15 min drive to practically and hiking trail. I loved Camelback Mountain to but left that for the weekend.
I miss the mountains :(

Hey, Wendie, what IS Celiac Disease, anyway? My husband's been having a lot of gastro problems lately and his doctor is testing him for something that sounds like 'Celiac'. Or something.

Hey Sasha, I don't leave comments very often, though I read both Beet & your blog everyday, in fact it's the first page I check in the morning! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am that you are speaking out about your personal experiences with mental health & the challenges that come with bipolar. My girlfriend is Bipolar 1, rapid cycling, I am major depressive disorder, recurring, so I can totally relate to everything you write & share about. Did I mention my girlfriend and I are also in an anonymous program and have been sober for a few years now? So mental health coupled with addictive personality, woo hoo! Dude, we have to stay so rigerous, daily, with our actions, thoughts, and our spiritual health. Some days it feels like too much, but the alternative is too great a price to pay at this point. If there is one thing I'd like to say specifically to you, it's that if your meds are making you too tired, then talk with your doctor about trying out new ones, or adjusting dosage, or when you take them, etc. Also, please stay med compliant every day, please please please. If you read this, thank you, thank you for sharing your life through words, thank you for sharing Leo and the cats, and well, you get the jist, thanks & take care.

I know this lady who was bipolar (only know her because her daughter had to stay with us when she went on fits) but she would start to feel okay stop taking her meds and then just disappear. She would be found days later in like drug dens. She threatened to kill the dog with scissors once... she was crazy. But just saying that at least you don't turn to violence drugs and alcohol when you're feeling down. =] Bipolar meds are definitely tricky things.
