No offense Beet, but your daddy is old school...

Secondary and Tertiary practice is not the main stay of treatment and certainly not the pinnacle of modern medicine. Primary prevention is considered a higher standard of care through screening methods and prevention of RISK FACTORS.

These risk factors (i.e./ gastrointestinal toxins), that are not eliminated from the body via the 4 standard routes of elimination (liver, kidney, gastrointestinal, and skin), are systemically harmful by nature and potentially carcinogenic when found to be stagnant.

The elimination of these toxins which are more commonly and collectively categorized as internal, external and gastrointestinal microbial has been proven by various detoxification methods which include fruit and a variety of juices. (re: National School of Aging-Harvard Medical School et al)

The exposure of the entire gastrointestinal epithelia particularly columnar epithelial cells, to solely liquids and fiber for a short period of time...assuming that those liquids are not assymetrical on the pH scale, can be highly beneficial to the human body... much like the anti-oxidant properties of red wine to cardiac muscle or the antibacterial properties of various juices in ridding the body of Urinary Tract Infections.

Just because the research in America is not as strong as in those countries that are more epidemiologically prone to terminal illnesses concerning gastro- and urinary tract toxins DOESN'T MEAN that these problems/methods don't exist or are rudimentary.

In conclusion... daddy needs to pick up the latest copy of JAMA.

Beet/Sasha/Weird girl.... you may not understand a lot of this, but daddy Beet will.

I think that would be considered a binge as opposed to a fast.

You could go on a dark chocolate and red wine fast! Aren't they both supposed to have antioxidants? Either way you look at it, after day one you'll feel great if you stay on it and if you go off it the headaches will come... what fasting motivation.

I've always wanted to complete a juice fast. I never make it through the second day. It's supposed to be so easy after the second day too.
